Our Programs
Equine Assisted Therapeutics
Humans recognized early on that horses develop and maintain relationships with people. This is difficult to define, yet undeniable, that bond between horses encompasses life’s physical, mental and spiritual components.
But this program is about more than horses, it’s about building trust, confidence and personal growth. Through each session, you’ll develop tools for emotional regulation, breathing techniques, and holistic approaches to stress relief and communications.
According to many experts, “equine assisted therapeutics is a great alternative approach that allows veterans to address their trauma in a hands-on way, alongside other veterans who understand their story.”
Groundwork and Bonding
Participants do not need experience working with horses to participate in these activities. They will not be riding horses but instead honing on horsemanship skills that encourage mindfulness, responsibility and emotional connection.
Quoting a veteran undergoing the program:
“The difference between connecting with horses versus people is that all depends on your actions rather than your words. Horses are watching what you do and listening to your tone. If you’re not earning their trust, they are going to let you know. It can be enlightening!”
Family Day and Community Activities
As an integral part of the program, we will schedule opportunities for participants to invite their families to join them and participate in activities at the ranch.
Additionally, events will be scheduled to bring together participants for camaraderie, mutual support and a shared experience.
